What do you think Israel would do if iron dome was taken away? How do you think that would turn out? It would be like cornering an angry dog. And how does one single vote on an amendment that lost by somewhere around 400 votes make the difference? And, if somehow it did make the difference and she had voted yes and added the amendment, why would the Republicans who control the House, Senate, and Executive vote to pass legislation that would compromise Israel? Do you think about any of this with your mind or do you just react on impulse and emotion like an animal?
This will be my last response because this is tiresome. I couldn’t find the text for Greene’s amendment so I’ll go with what AOC said. She said she voted against the amendment because it would not have stopped the transfer of munitions and offensive aid to Israel, and because it would cut off iron dome. Her stated reason for not wanting to cut off iron dome is that she believes it would intensify the war and increase civilian casualties. Since I can’t find the text, you’re certainly going to say she’s lying about what the amendment would do. Fine. She’s lying and the amendment would actually cut off all aid to Israel. So then it boils down to iron dome. I’m not changing your mind about this. But from the perspective of a lawmaker, someone dealing literally with life and death, I don’t find her stance to be ethically inconsistent. Taking away iron dome would objectively increase civilian casualties both within Israel and within their enemy countries as Israel would fight even harder and more viciously to attempt to destroy the capacity for future strikes against themselves. You’ve already pulled your “you support genocide” card against me so nothing I say will mean anything to you except “lying evil fascist zionazi” or whatever the fuck. So I’m done with you. Goodbye!
