That’s depressing on so many levels it’s almost funny.

Maybe.
Traditionally their views are in their names. You can expect other things from them, but also expect your expectations to not be met. Overcoming that is the fundamental point of democracy; quite irrelevant if trapped in a two party system, though. But try enjoy the ride where you can. There’s no getting off unless you leave the amusement park entirely.

saltesc@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How far are you away from your "spawn point" (place of birth)? Do you currently consider that city/town to be "home"?2·2 days agoI explore a lot and have been to and lived in a lot of places and prefer it that way. Might be from all the moving around growing up. There’s towns that feel familiar with me, but not what I think people mean when they say “hometown”.
I get something with a handful of little locations though, like certain bars, mountains, surf spots, etc. When I get to see one again, it has the same emotion as seeing a dear old friend after a long time. Lots of peace and good memories rush in.

Everyone knows what the biggest threat is but only that it’s spineless and makes no sense, so good luck planning ahead for it. Numbers should help, but have seem meaningless in the past.
If you’re holding a speed for four hours, I’d call it cruising.
That generally my cruise time until I need to pull in for a leg stretch, more fuel and snacks, and a pee.
“You are a little soul carrying about a corpse.”
Apparently something Epictetus used to say, according to Aurelius.
In shell
Drawing pictures
Of fence tops
With him on top
Lemon yellow sun
Eyestalks raised in a V
The dead lay in pools of pale blue belowScientists tried to give attention
To the fact that his shell turned left
Snail Jeremy the Wicked
Ruled his world, butJeremy didn’t get laid today
Jeremy didn’t get laid todayClearly I remember
Pickin’ on the boy
Seemed a harmless little mollusc
Oh, but we unleashed a hedgehog
Gnashed his radula
Shot darts at mantles
How could I forget
He hit me with a surprise bump
My shell left hurtin’
Oh, tipped right over
Just like the day
Like the day I heardScientists tried to give affection
But the boy was something the others wouldn’t mate
Snail Jeremy the Wicked
Ruled his worldJeremy didn’t get laid today
Jeremy didn’t get laid today

Try to erase this… (try to erase this)
From the postdoc paperJeremy didn’t get laid today

Sounds like civil staff was top heavy and voluntary separation packages were offered. Those that accepted and NASA also agreed on would’ve been redundant (or close to it) positions already.
If you couldn’t get your project properly funded and found out $400M a year goes to legacy senior civil staff, you’d want them gone too.

I think I’m at a level where, for most cases, what I ask of LLMs for coding is too advanced, else I just do it myself. This results in a very high counts of bullshit. But even for the most basic stuff, I have to take the time to read all of it and fix or optimise mistakes.

There’s many parts of the dictionary that could be replaced with a pic of him. But I think the US justice system is ironically solidfying “martyr” as the top pick.
At this rate, they’re striving for Joan of Arc levels of history.
I hope he knows everyone is truly grateful of the impact he has made and is continuing to make.
