Many international competitions, such as international swing dancing, in the US have been postponed. Many international competitors don’t feel welcomed. Many organisers consider moving competitions to overseas.

We closed our own door. There is not a single one country can thrive without international trade. They are not coming back to the US

As a Canadian - not going back to the US for the far foreseeable future. This isn’t a “after next election” fix. There’s a deep cultural issue that needs to be fixed before I care to spend my money there again.

As an American, please don’t. Our country is a dumpster fire, and I’m urging everyone to…ya know…NEVER COME HERE!!! Seriously guys. It’s bad. You’re not safe here. Please don’t put yourself in harms way.

Also…can’t help but notice that you’re Canadian. Mind if I stay on your couch for the next 60 years?

European in an international field here. I usually travel to US for work once every year or so but told my boss I am not willing to - his answer? “Well, me neither, you are good”

Yup. Even if we eek out a miracle and elect a majority Democratic House and/or Senate we still have a Dictator in the Whitehouse and his admin has sprinkled loyalists all over the country. It will take decades to root out most of the fascists (some were probably there way before Trump ran the first time).

Hahaha, “May”. No this is the beginning of the end for America. Travel is ruined, inflation is sky high, no one is safe from being kidnapped, and no jobs are available.

Why would ANYONE want to travel to the US anymore? So many other cheaper, nicer, and safer places to stay where you are actually free and not surrounded by a police state.

I have lived in the US, and have very dear friends there. I wanted to go visit, with my young adult kids, who have never been to the US. Now I must wait until things normalize.

Even though I’m standard European white, and my kids are blond and “dark” redhead; paper white, freckles etc. and we’d have less chance of being profiled, there have been instances of western tourists held for weeks, so no. Plenty of world to see for now.

Yes, Australia. Have you watched Sky News (Fox news sister station in Australia)?

They constantly quote each other as " international news source" to bypass the responsibility of backing up their claims. The anti immigrant sentiment is rapid.

Australians are eating it all up.

Marine Le Pen was projected to win the election in a few years. They run the same racist campaign in France.

England was that way until Trump scared the shit out of the Brits with tarrifs.

      Don’t forget Brazil and Philippine.

The whole world is getting radical.

“May”? — Please tell me what indicator they saw that would signal things would improve? That’s the laughable part. The World Cup is gonna be a shit show that they’ll practically have to give tickets away to at this rate.

I’m actually kind of excited to see the trump administration RUIN one of the best things to come to the US. FIFA will never come back here after the insanity that is about to go down. So many innocent people will be kidnapped by ICE for attending, so why even go?

Yeah, don’t fucking come here. Not now, not in the future. We can’t be trusted again for a very long time - longer than just an election or two.

I’m just one retired bloke from the UK so hardly representative, but my wife and I were planning a visit to New England next year which has now been binned for the foreseeable future. Canada is looking favourite at the moment.

What about people who enjoy extreme sports and visiting dangerous places? You know like, people who visit war zones and tyranical dictatorships? I think USA might make it to the top ten along with Palestine, Afghanistan and North Korea.

I’d say it’s likely to get worse. Lots of people with forward bookings likely kept them as they would lose their money otherwise. They likely won’t have that cohort of now-unwilling tourists next year.

This year the business devoted to tourism willl struggle. Next year the will start to go under. The year after that is when things get really ugly.

Likely some will go under this year. If enough go under, there’s enough tourists to support the others. The longer they last, the more the others struggle. Catch 22.

Do you consider yourself an expert? Would you personally say, with confidence, there is a very high likelihood of the given outcome?

Or are you just completely obtuse??

It’s kind of like someone saying they’re an expert on the Harlem Globetrotters.

Then they say the Globetrotters MAY win their game.

…are they really an expert at that point? To not be able to see something SOOOO obvious???
