New York Mayor Eric Adams did not mince his words about his disapproval of what he called the large number of “nasty” Gen Z voters supporting Zhoran Mamdani, the democratic socialist candidate leading the race for NYC mayor.

you have no regard for the civility

I don’t know under what rock he’s lived for the past 10 years, but civility in politics has been quite thoroughly killed by Trump and his lackeys, which now seems to include Adams. He picked the side of no civility, so he’s reaping what ue sowed.

Adams accused left-leaning schools and institutions of radicalizing young people, claiming they are being taught to hate their city and country, which is a trend, he says, that must be addressed.

Again, Trump is doing that. He’s running on a platform of hating about half of all Americans, and especially coastal cities.

That country is never going back. Once the politicians doing this shit becomes the norm, it’s all over.

It’s something that used to be said on occasion and shock people and now it’s just expected. So… yeah, pretty much now.

Just reread your comment and that was already what you were saying. I was trying to be funny, thereby adding nothing and potentially confusing other readers, including myself.

          I’ll show myself out.

It should be etched in law that it’s prohibited to call the voters of your rival anything bad as it only serves to cause a division in the country.

I like the idea, but the First Amendment exists so idiots can say dumb things like this out in the open and we can all point and laugh.

      Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?” Clinton said. “The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.”

Nearly 3 million more people voted for her than Trump. Ithe hard to say any 1 thing was the reason. It’s just as easy to say there was a percentage of the population that wouldn’t vote for a woman and that flipped enough purple states at the time.

Not an original bone in their body. 2 years ago the right wing would have used similar language against him, being a PoC, and combined with their generic hatred of a liberal city.

Media blackout. Only focus on the response to his ideas so it seems like the wave is against him and his ideas only exist to be opposed. When they spread his ideas people like them. When you only frame them by how much backlash they receive, it seems like they’re crazy
