The left needs to take over existing power structures. Join up and play the game so you have a seat at the table. This should include the police and enforcement branches. That’s what the white supremists and the extreme Christian nationalist did and now they are in control and making policies that no one wants.
Statistically speaking, that would split the American “left” vote while not affecting the number of republican voters at all. At best it would give the republicans at least a minority government in every election for a long time and nothing will change. As impossible as it seems, the best course of action would be to try to effect change in the democratic party instead of trying to run against them. It really a shitty scenario with no real winning solution at present.
