    Why don’t they just use the clean and treated but ‘non-potable’ wastewater from sewerage plants?

    It’s not like the water disappears after it’s done running through a cooling loop, it’s just warm and discharged back into the sewer.

      I’m not super informed on these systems, but looks like evaporative cooling does account for a lot of water consumption. Probably also explains why freshwater is used (to avoid mineral and other deposits.)

      Because that would make sense, probably, and wouldn’t directly harm anyone.
