Somewhere, Dr. Ammon Hillman has read this and is grinning maniacally.

Asidonhopo@lemmy.worldto Television@piefed.social•What do you think is one of the most overhated TV series?English1·11 hours agoFriends. Yuck.Edit: misread post. Don’t be like me.
I looked again, if it’s on there it’s very well hidden. I’m using the website btw, maybe the app has it more easy to access.
Edit: I looked in the settings menu and you can block communities through there but ideally for me there be a way to do it from the page of the community itself.
They probably have a method but I cant recommend using a match for ear hair. Made a cool sound though

Asidonhopo@lemmy.worldto politics @lemmy.world•DEMS PULL UPSET ON EPSTEIN FILES: Democrats dropped an 11th-hour motion at an unrelated hearing after noticing that most GOP members on the panel had publicly demanded the files be released.English1·4 days agoIt’s performative? So it won’t actually cause the “subpoena ALL the Jeffrey Epstein files” as the post says? My point is it’s just a little hard to see what the vote actually does from the context given, although I don’t doubt there will be political fallout from it.
So I created an account over on piefed.social and was browsing by /all and saw some communities I have no interest in ever seeing. I navigate through to the community and there’s no “block community” function? How am I to browse by /all as is my wont, without seeing furry porn? Nothing wrong with it but it’s just not my jam.
Honestly /all is the best way to find new active communities to join and it’s worked here at Lemmy just fine. Or maybe I missed the button on piefed, or devs are adding it as you read this.

Yeah I was picturing a window fan, not a ceiling far too.
A fan blowing in an unoccupied room can help ventilate the entire house?
It’s an acquired taste.
Fibonacci. Nacci. Nacho cheese. Yeah I’m eating that millipede
Asidonhopo@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How active is too active while being on lemmy?English241·9 days agoA lot of the Lemmy posts I see are from a few very active posters, and more is always welcome as long as it’s interesting stuff. I’m one of those people that wants Lemmy to be 10x it’s current size though, there are definitely the other kind here but yeah in my opinion push for exponential growth any way you can if you have the energy for it.

Makes sense with Marx too I guess but Hillman, who has a doctorate in classics and a masters (I think) in one of the biosciences has been pushing for more awareness of the countless references to recreational and sacramental drug use in antiquity for over a decade now. He’s not for everybody but he’s read ancient Greek for over 3 decades and finds some pretty surprising accounts of it in neglected medical and other texts he continues to translate.
