AtHeartEngineer@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•US ends tariff exemption for all low-value packagesEnglish2·3 days agoFair, ya even around 10 mil is probably pretty tough with a reasonable cost cnc. I imagine with laser ablation, you’ll probably run into similar issues, you still have to physically move and point the laser, mirrors, or your target base.
I’ve got a little bit of a background in optics and sensors, but diy photolithography still seems pretty challenging, would be interested in following your work if you go down that route.

AtHeartEngineer@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Google Assistant Is Basically on Life Support and Things Just Got WorseEnglish1·5 days agoAhh, makes sense. Multizone is something I’ll probably end up doing in my house soon, thankfully all my ductwork is exposed in the basement which makes it easy. Thanks appreciate it, I’m going to try to get a prototype board spun in the next week or two, test it out for a bit, and then see if other people are interested in them too. Appreciate the info, I should consider being able to control dampers also.

I have been looking for a more open thermostat, preferably esp32 based, that I can have good local control over. I have started to do the board layout for one with some air quality sensors built in.
If you don’t mind me asking whats more complicated about your hvac setup? Multistage? Heat pump? Multizone?

Same, started following him about 6 months to a year ago and quickly became a fan

I am pretty sure it is, it seems ironic to me
AtHeartEngineer@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•Does anyone else find it suspicious that there wasn't any criticism on here about Stop Killing Games until after it hit 1.4M signatures?English12·12 days agoIf he helps bump the gaming industry in a better/healthier direction, he deserves 6 figures imo
I normally am against outrageous branding, especially in the overly masculine or nationalistic area, but I think they are pretty solid. Good product, they lean right into the ridiculousness just enough for it to be a little comical, seem to have good messaging, and it’s just good. Expensive for what it is though.
I agree with this. Along with being open to changing your opinion is understanding that in topics you aren’t an expert in, you don’t even know how much you don’t understand.

It’s ok, ai might reach super intelligence before then 😅, and climate change might be beyond recovery, nothing important the government should be working on.
