I dont know if this is a serious question or a vieled whataboutism, but whatever the case, I do know one thing, Russia chose to start the war, and even more so, their mobsters used the excuse that their victims and enemies “made them do it”

I was making the remark that Fascists by design, have to portray their enemies as both powerful, and pathetic.
Russia is fascist, and declares “the west” to be both the great satan who threatens Russkiy Mir and their very existence for which they were forced to go to war, and simultaneously is full of weak decadent coward homeosexual liberals. its the fascist duality

Like all the other foreign nationals who migrated to Russia out of some dumbass belief Russia was a “conservative moral bastion” only to get thrown in the army like cattle

The USSR was just a Russian empire that pretended to be some international socialist brotherhood. Imperialism is married to the Russian identity and that didnt stop just because the Bolsheviks killed the royal family.
ah yes, the equally competent and incompetent natoids strike again.

DicJacobus@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Adblockers stop publishers serving ads to (or even seeing) 1bn web users - Press GazetteEnglish7·18 days agodepending on your household’s browsing habits, it can be downright insane how much traffic goes through ones network (and the web at large), that is just nothing but dog shit.
I monitored my pihole at my place and my own traffic is usually no more than 15% garbage with about 750,000 domains blocked, but the second grandma or grandpa starts doomscrolling boomer things on their phones and ipads. I saw the network traffic at 60% blocked one time and I had to confront them and flatly ask them “what the fuck are you doing on your phone?”
also set up a Region exemption or whatever, blocking russian, chinese, and a whole bunch of other untrustworthy TLDs and im literally showing my grandmother the repeated attempts to communicate with something in fucking China in real time whilst she’s playing some solitare game she downloaded.

I even printed a sticker for it that said “where ads go to die”

I feel like we have a case of that here, except its what Makes an American, and it continues getting reductive until you’ve narrowed it down to a Jingoistic or Ultranationalist/Manifest Destiny type WASP (White, Anglo-saxon heritage, Protestant faith christian)

I dont exactly remember when it started getting “safer” because I think the same time the internet was getting safer to browse, a lot of Millenial and Zillenial kids were getting smarter and otherwise learning how to not get malware and worms on their PC
DicJacobus@lemmy.worldto Greentext@sh.itjust.works•Anon does some online shoppingEnglish5·30 days agoyeah cause you cant get one at your local best buy anymore, but someone will certainly harrass you into trying to buy a smart TV
for invidiual everyday people? Probably something that involves smaller countries. I think part of the reason we have so many of these brazenly corrupt and evil administrations is because the systems are so big the temptation to go megalomaniac just trying to steer the ship is there
, Imagine being told to vote in an election when you live in Idaho or Yukon, and that ultimatley, your vote doesn’t matter because everything gets determined by a couple of population centers (in the case of Canada) or the fate of how a couple swing states vote (USA)
and then once they’re in power, there’s 10,000 mouths all crowing at the mother-bird for food. and only the loudest half get fed at all
Im making weird analogies but the point is, I think we’re looking at this the wrong way. Countries, and therfor economies and Markets, were never meant to get to the size they are today, Countries Like China, America, Russia, India, they are largely unmanagable without brutal oppression , and economically, it’s herding cats.
