It’s too dramatic
Lemminary@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•how many people came to this platform due to leaving / being banned from Reddit?1·2 days agoCame here originally for a pirate community in dbzero, mistakenly joined .ml, then finally joined World. Maybe PieFed is next, who knows. Never let them know your next move.
The overcooked back half.
I wonder if this relates to them having six legs somehow. Like, they’re able to measure where the next hex should be based on leg length and direction or something.

Like the phrase “Nobody wants demographic change” hints at the genocide of natives, no? “I get it”, you don’t want your people to suffer like mine did. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but she didn’t need to be that agreeable either way.
JavaScript devs know it’s from -0 to -Infinity
Lemminary@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•One California worker dead, hundreds arrested, after cannabis farm raid1·3 days agoThank you, that’s rare to see and it means a lot. I sincerely don’t participate in bad faith. I’m making an effort to do better.
Lemminary@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•One California worker dead, hundreds arrested, after cannabis farm raid11·3 days agoAre you serious? Did you even look at the time frames? 3 mo ago, 1 year. I’ve been here 2 years. I hope you realize most of those times were not deserved, and people were power tripping and assuming shit, just like you did by slapping troll on everything you dislike. Mods like you are the problem on this site, who then turn around and play saints.
Lemminary@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•One California worker dead, hundreds arrested, after cannabis farm raid11·3 days agoYeah, I’m gonna believe that. What rule did I break, then? Or are you just vibe modding? Because I sure as shit am not “trolling” for speaking about things that matter to me that you dislike.
Lemminary@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•One California worker dead, hundreds arrested, after cannabis farm raid11·3 days agous mods are bound by the instance-wide rules and TOS
LOL But you don’t follow them. I reported one person who was clearly breaking the TOS and YOUR rules and you banned me instead for being a “known troll” for speaking about phobias. At least be honest with yourself.
Yes, unfortunately, you’re reading the consequence of me having already advocated for this sort of thing with people being less than friendly, and now me bitching about it and getting my ass handed to me.
Anyway, the only thing I’m asking for is not to include huge pictures of common phobias. You know, a small subset of animals and obvious themes like evil clowns in places where they don’t belong. So that’s three fair qualifiers:
- huge pictures
- super common things known to be phobias, as suffered by roughly 20% of the population
- put in places where they have no logical reason to be
This is a fair request, and I’m not asking for anything else. If you consider this scenario, I don’t think I’m asking for anything unreasonable. I can handle everything else.
You’re graduating to an asshole who also doesn’t get sarcasm.
Oh yeah, it’s flowers, dude, would you believe it’s a common phobia listed everywhere as such? I may just intern myself over a phobia because that also makes a lot of sense. Jerk.

I feel this way about artworks/memes depicting, real or drawn, infantilized and/or oversexualized women.
Yup, and now add to that the jumpscare, the heart racing with the palpitations, the strong headache, the mood change, and the subsequent stress. If it were just “oh, I’m just not going to think about this,” it’d be great, but there’s a visceral physical reaction on top of the emotional one that no doubt includes stress hormones. I’m entering fight-or-flight for a split second, and not an ethical dilemma.
If a person has a phobia to spiders, can we logically get rid of all spiders?
This conversation always comes back to this every time I bring it up, which is why I included so many hyphenated adjectives trying to be specific. I’m saying, why are we including huge pictures that take up the entire screen when they aren’t necessary and contribute nothing to the post? Small images are fine and I can manage, but these are 1200x900 pixel images to give a rough estimate. I’ve been flashed with 1920x1080 pictures of a snake in videos about Python when it wasn’t necessary and was completely unrelated to the topic. I don’t have a button for that.
Here’s the last image I had to block from a post about Python to give you a better idea:
Warning: close-up of a snake that’s probably not even a python.

And yes, I do actively use uBlock Origin’s element picker on desktop but its behavior is not consistent and it doesn’t exist on mobile apps for Lemmy either. I have to maneuver around this in the most impractical way, exposing me to this for far longer than I’d like. If I could manage, I wouldn’t say anything for getting so much backlash, tbh.
People can be mean, I hope I’m not coming off mean here, I’m not trying to.
Same here! No worries. I hope I’m not coming off as angry in trying to express the frustration behind this. :)
