I feel like it’s incredibly important to note here that 4 days ago the US military, at the direct order of president trump, destroyed a Venezuelan civilian boat in international waters killing every one on board. The ENTIRE reason the trump administration claimed this move was legal (it isn’t in either courts of US law and the International Criminal Court) is because they claimed the boat was carrying members of Tren de Aragua which they recently officially announced as a terrorist organization.

I’m honestly surprised he hasn’t announced merch on his site to commemorate the moment and bank off of it at the same time. I feel like they had crap for sale when he got shot at within like 15 minutes.

Totally agree. Either way, this will 1000000% be used to fan the flames. If it turns out to be a left wing woke nutjob or something they will obviously cream their pants in glee and just scream something along the lines of “see? The left is so horrible and so violent. Look at what they’ve done! We need to stop them now before it gets worse!” If it’s a right wing idiot they’ll just gloss over that and say “look how violent our cities our. Yeah well Trump has the legal cover of “I can do whatever the fuck I want” immunity which has fully not expired. Worst case they just tell him he can’t kill people like 3 years after he killed a bunch of people and he just says “no.”

I get what you’re saying and you’re definitely right. I don’t side load things all that much but the times I have was because there was no other viable way to get what I needed and it worked amazingly well (not to mention testing something before it’s available on the app store).

It’s one of those things like a fire extinguisher that you might not need but you are very grateful it’s there just in case you ever do.

That’s how it works… It’s all theatre, always has been. And it works. Look how many people are head over heels for pretty much anything this administration does. Actual outcomes don’t matter. Consequences don’t matter until it guts them personally, and even then sometimes it doesn’t matter. All that matters is how it looks in the media and the theatre makes it look damn good to their demographic and they love it.

This is not new. He’s been harping about how dangerous and terrible scientific journals are for years and has said numerous times he’s going to try and shut down some of the leading ones. And I have no doubt he will succeed at least with a few. We are rocketing past Idiocracy at this point.

I can’t help but feel like a civil war is a different scenario. Russia currently controls 20% of Ukraine. For the sake of simplicity, that’s 10 US states. I have a very hard time believing that if a foreign country had complete control of 10 states, and the majority of the people of those states, for all intents and purpose were unable to vote, an election would go over smoothly. I have to imagine it would be an utter shitshow.

Not to mention 3 or 4 ppl that can and will reliably make mortgage payments for 15 or more likely 30 years. Once someone drops out because of life events then they’ll want to be bought out by the next person which introduces a whole bunch of headaches. Having watched this exact thing play out, this will most likely turn into a bitter nightmare of endless paperwork and some ruined relationships.

I don’t know if he’s doing it this time as well - I’d be surprised if he’s not - but last term he kept putting the presidential guests up to stay at his properties at a marked up room cost too

I mean with regards to this poll, yes and no. Look at the question framing. For some questions this is true but a lot don’t really leave space for that mistake:

Did trump have a negative affect on grocery prices?

Did trump have a negative affect on your finances prices?

Will Trump’s tarrifs increase the price of every day goods?

These don’t ask if Trump or his administration is responsible for high grocery prices or CoL or the financial climate, just if he has helped or worsened it. Other questions are pretty clear in their separation from this specific administration:

Do you believe Corporations or billionaires have had an active role in making life more difficult for average people over the past 25 years?

Do you believe congressional Republicans or congressional Democrats have made life more difficult?

A lot of the other questions just have to do with how anxious people feel about finances or the concerns they have and doesn’t really ask about any politicians at all.

Of course you are absolutely right that, in general, people have an astonishingly and consistently short memory resulting in attributing current problems to current politicians but I dunno if this poll is really indicative of that.

And she will conveniently walk free as part of a plea deal to be included in the deal Epstein struck in 2007.

I mean you might not like it but he’s totally right. I stopped eating carrot cake 3 years ago and about 4 months afterwards I got in a horrific car accident. 2 people were critically injured, 2 more died and a llama was also killed. I was miraculously unharmed and the doctors said if I had even a bite of carrot cake in the months leading up to that I would have been hurt badly. Who knows how big that medical bill would have been… Thanks Dr. Oz!

In situations like this where it clearly won’t matter, I’ve always seen it as basically a token vote that they pass around to whoever’s turn it is. Everybody on the team gets a few votes throughout their term where they can vote against something that will pass anyway and then they can turn around later when their constituents are mad about whatever and just say “but remember? I voted against that thing you hated!”

I could of course be completely wrong but it just seems like the math just barely works out in the majority party’s favor way too much to be a coincidence.

I’d say they do them justice to some degree no? I quite enjoyed the first movie, it changed some stuff from the book for sure but I feel like it captured the same feel for the most part and does the story justice. Admittedly, the lost world was a bit of a mess as they combined some stuff from different books and changed the ending for the worse I’d say but Ive seen much worse adaptations in the theatre.
