I second this. I mostly prefer to keep to myself, but I have started seeing socializing with coworkers as a work duty. It is now no more taxing than doing paperwork. People seem to like me and seek my help, which was not the case previously. It’s also easier to get people to help me.

Sane-wash? Buddy, get offline. I’ve literally just explained why it isn’t insane. The interests of the democratic party are better served (not perfectly) by the right when compared to the left. They can get tax cuts with the right while really only sacrificing the comfort of the underclasses or tax increases and accountability with the left. It’s completely rational. It’s the ruling class best serving its interests. Nothing insane about it.
