I’m not sure what you’re trying to say, but yes. I’m saying they have a pair of brass ones but only swing them when it suits their brand image. Jon Stuart, as you’ve surmised, didn’t get the protection in my opinion because he threatened their brand image with his piece on China.

Apple picks their battles specifically with brand identity in mind, which has its ups and downs, but they do have some brass ones and you have to admit it. Let’s not all forget the FBI notice they posted on the main page of Apple.com with a letter explaining why they were not going to be developing a backdoor in iOS and wouldn’t be gagged.
