This is a feature not a bug. We saw what happened when the Internet was sanitized and welcoming, instead of being a transparent black mirror showing the true nature of humanity - society adopted it en masse without thinking about it or realizing its danger because that filth has a nice façade over it, and society is crumbling as a result. The Internet should not be a clean, universally friendly place because that is not reality and just hiding that behind civility doesn’t do much. In 2008, online Nazis were posting shittily drawn swastikas and talking about how much they love Hitler on fringe websites. In 2025 they’re posting videos on Facebook and Twitter in suits with massive audiences with the same hateful rhetoric hiding just beneath the surface hidden by a false veneer of respectability. This is what sanitizing the Internet has wrought.
This actually is still a hallucination, but also not. The acid made you realize that there is fundamentally no difference between reality and unreality, and that existence and nonexistence are the same thing. There is no “substance” to the universe, and the acid made you realize this.
I think you are delusional if you think there is anything MAGA morons can’t or won’t ignore. I live deep in MAGA country and nobody has taken down their MAGA flags and signs and none of the MAGA people I know are talking about this. The fantasy that this is what is going to finally cause people to wake up and abandon Trump is just a fairy tale told to liberals online to keep them hopeful. They could release video evidence of Trump raping a child on Epstein’s island and it wouldn’t change a thing. People who like Trump in 2025 have had plenty of chances to see evidence that he is a terrible person who actively hates them, but they have chosen to remain blind to it. I don’t see why any particular issue would change that.
The Bible doesn’t actually say anything about slaves being used to build the pyramids or even mention the pyramids (as far I know, there may be an obscure mention in the minor prophets I don’t know about). The idea of Israelite slaves building the pyramids is entirely cultural, and relatively recent. For example, in the middle ages, people believed that the pyramids were actually older than the story of Moses and Egyptian captivity, and attributed them to the biblical character Joseph, who appears in the Book of Genesis. I suspect the idea of Israelite slaves building the pyramids comes from early movies about the Exodus such as the blockbuster hit The Ten Commandments.
This is going to be hot garbage and Captain Planet will be promoting pro corporate propaganda
There’s a legendary episode of the QAnon Anonymous podcast (not a pro QAnon podcast) where they do a spoof based on this
Spoiler alert- this is not the turning point, these morons will still support him in spite of this
Everything Everywhere All At Once
I think the biggest problem is that steam is like 80+% shovelware and it’s no surprise that a lot of those are using a bunch of AI generated “artwork.” IMO it’s no worse than a shitty asset flip and as others have pointed out, there are a lot of really cool things you could do with generative AI in game dev that aren’t just slapping shitty pictures all over your product, and this doesn’t capture the nuance. I would also assume that this number is lower than reality since it relies on tagging, and nobody is accurately tagging shitty scam games with less than a hundred downloads.

I mean it’s simple math. Would you rather make more money or less money if you’re the business owner? It’s not good, but it’s easily explainable.
I mean from a business standpoint it makes sense. You make more money selling 5 hamburgers at $21 a piece than you do selling 10 at $10 a piece, as long as costs are similar. Having fewer users you’re making more money from can make sense.
Modern Judaism doesn’t really have this kind of view of the end of the world at all. This was kind of fad in Judaism for a while due to Israel getting conquered a bunch by foreign powers but it hasn’t been a big thing for like 2000 years at this point
These subscription tiers aren’t intended for normal people, they’re supposed to be for companies, mostly for programmers to increase their output. Although I must be honest if I were at work and they said “hey we paid for Grok” I would be pretty annoyed given that the big name LLMs are pretty similar if you’re actually using them for work and most don’t come with the stupidity that comes along with being owned by Elon Musk.
I’ll believe it when I see it lol. Trump tariff threats just sound like whining at this point because he doesn’t have the balls to actually follow through.
Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil today
But if you ask for a rise
It’s no surprise
that they’re giving none away
This is the shit I come to Lemmy for. This is the real internet I love not censored corporate bullshit.
Remember when China gave its biggest auto manufacturers $85 billion to keep them from going out of business when they made a bunch of bad financial decisions? Oh wait that was the US.
Does religion even being mentioned give you people brain damage or something? I am legitimately curious how you could have misread my comment so hard unless you were just foaming at the mouth about religion even being mentioned that you disregarded even the most basic thought about it. I am just saying that the Bible doesn’t actually claim that enslaved Jews built the pyramids and doesn’t even mention the pyramids at all, and I included the other stuff more to demonstrate that this is actually a pretty recent belief based mostly on Hollywood movies. Exodus clearly depicts Israelites being enslaved in Egypt, but I wasn’t trying to dispute that.
