Doesn’t Firefox still have brand recognition though? I’d have thought even people who answer “google” to “what browser do you use” would have heard of firefox, and therefore looked it up rather than using the neurons to ask, “what alternative browsers are there?”

I went to a lot of different primary schools (UK here, that’s up-to-11-years-old) and there absolutely were ones where this happened. There were also good ones.
My parents got called to school more than once because i was “disruptive” and kept doing things like wandering around class talking to people or not turning up after breaks. I was bored. My parents said, if I’ve done the work and it’s all correct can’t they give me something else to do? So they made me answer the same set of questions again once I finished them.
I spent a lot of time on computers (shocker, right?) and that was seen as nerdy and weird when I was at school. Even after I got my first real job, I remember my girlfriend dismissing things I’d say because “nobody cares about your stupid internet”. Predictable rest of comment is predictable.
Punk was big in the late 70s - mid 80s, though? I thought the big boom was early 80s. It was buried under things like nu-metal and emo in the late 90s (I’m fuzzy on this because of reasons).
