Amazon cuts lots of jobs constantly. They have turnover requirements for pretty much all departments. They are notorious for firing people of they think they could replace with anyone higher performing, including people undergoing cancer treatment. In the industry being fired from Amazon is often seen as a right of passage.

There are still populations of lactose intolerant people. East Asians being the largest group, but there are populations in Europe. It’s a cultural thing. If your culture involved eating dairy with lactose then the populations adapted. A group in Europe created a yoghurt like dish that had no lactose as their traditional dairy dish and had no need to develop a tolerance.

So it mostly lines up with climate like you mentioned but there are exceptions when groups found loopholes.

The crisis they created by chasing gains with no regard to efficiency.

Edit: I just have to add this is typical capitalist behavior. They are chasing gains at with no regard to the consequences it will have on the public. And now here we are and these CEOs are starting to lobby that the public needs to do something about the electric grid that THEY have overstressed in their pursuit of profit.
