whosepoopisonmybutt@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•Americans’ junk-filled garages are hurting EV adoption, study saysEnglish1·3 days agoAtticus seemed to be saying that corporations already know everything about you because of your phone and that people are silly to try to protect their privacy, implying that these people are boring and really have nothing worth keeping private.
I was trying to illustrate that people should and actually do value their privacy, and that they should continue to take measures to protect it.
You come in with - bruh, have you ever heard of a phone book?
The info you shared was not interesting and only served to convey your lack of critical thinking ability.
whosepoopisonmybutt@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•Americans’ junk-filled garages are hurting EV adoption, study saysEnglish1·3 days agoI assume that the downvotes are from you and I notice that you haven’t shared the information. I think that is a good and appropriate response. Nothing good can come you sharing this information here. Privacy is appropriate and valuable even for people who are doing nothing wrong and who aren’t even particularly interesting.
whosepoopisonmybutt@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•Americans’ junk-filled garages are hurting EV adoption, study saysEnglish11·3 days agoTo really drive in your point, why don’t you post the names and phone numbers of the three people you contact most frequently. Don’t worry, those numbers are already in the phone book. It’s ok, you’re just sharing publicly available information.
whosepoopisonmybutt@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•Americans’ junk-filled garages are hurting EV adoption, study saysEnglish11·3 days agoYou’ve missed the point. The phone numbers are not the valuable information. What’s valuable is the list of each person’s social contacts.

whosepoopisonmybutt@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•Americans’ junk-filled garages are hurting EV adoption, study saysEnglish101·4 days agoWould you mind posting your phone book and a copy of all your text messages here for us all to read? Can we see your photo album, all credit card transactions, amazon purchase history, GPS location data, credit score? We promise only to sell this info to other people, use it to sell you stuff, raise your insurance rates, tell us where to focus our funding for political campaigns. Don’t worry, we’ll only save it forever and you can be assured that we’ll feed this into AI models 10 or 20 years from now, along with everyone else’s data, establishing a massive cache of information from which incredible inferences will be possible. We may or may not use this information to enrich ourselves, increase wealth inequality, influence politics. You should surely not take steps to limit the data being collected about you. Just relax your body. Let it happen.
The mature thing to do and the most “I don’t give a fuck” way to be is just to move out of the way of people who want to go fast and leave lots of space between you and an aggressive driver.
I’ve spent a lot of time riding motorcycles. Your awareness changes and you learn to identify danger.
Seriously, why do you give a shit about the weirdo whose driving is pissing you off? When you’re in a car, the easiest way to get this person out of your life is to just slow down a little.
Driving like an old person is chill as fuck. Better gas mileage, too.
whosepoopisonmybutt@sh.itjust.workstoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•Having the day they voted for25·17 days agoYou know, I could kind of understand what they’re trying to do and why they would support it if they were cutting social programs and also lowering everyone’s taxes. That’s not what they’re doing. They’re cutting social programs, raising everyone’s taxes, and giving tax cuts to the wealthy.
Anyone who thinks that Republicans care about workers is a fool.
A succulent Chinese…

Windows 11 is enshitified enough to be annoying and loaded with government and corporate spyware enough to be alarming. Meanwhile, Linux has become user friendly, optimized for everything but the latest hardware and capable of running most games.

Using Debian as your distro doesn’t lock you into firefox ESR.

This weekend, I gave my girlfriend’s dad a nice computer with Linux mint installed. I put a shortcut to windows 11 setup to run in virtualbox, in case there were things that he felt he needed windows for (to spare him the frustration of needing to tinker too much if he didn’t want to).
Down with Microsoft spyware.
