Yeah while it’s funny, for sure, it’s kind of “too little, too late” after literally spending the last ten years acting like being politically correct in any way was idiocy.
Season 19 in 2015 was when “PC Principal” showed up. It also included the episode “Naughty Ninjas” which basically one long police apologia episode with the moral of the story being that we need police.
And Douche and Turd Sandwich was in 2004 and… while I don’t actually like Kerry or think he would have been a particularly good president, we were also looking at dubyah as the incumbent who had already started two-ish wars (which… I think are worth looking at in terms of what they COULD have accomplished but that sure as hell wasn’t what we were doing over there).
A buddy of mine compared matt and trey to The Lincoln Project and… I am not sure I can actually disagree. Sometimes our interests align but it is REALLY dangerous to praise “the cool conservatives”.
Still, the show has a massive and mixed audience. If this is what it takes for the not-politically-engaged cohort to get the message that liking trump isn’t “cool” anymore, then it’s still a huge step in the right direction.
