Of course the genocide is bipartisan so the ceasefire was never going to last.

Check the source code and the license(s). In some cases the fee version is open source but the premium version is neither open nor even source-available. What do you think Israel would do if iron dome was taken away?
I don’t have a crystal ball, but they might reconsider what they’re currently doing if they were less invincible.
It would be like cornering an angry dog.
Israel has had the “dog” cornered for generations. Before that the “dog” was living its life, unperturbed by settler-colonial invaders.
And how does one single vote on an amendment that lost by somewhere around 400 votes make the difference?
This is a dodge. You still haven’t answered the question. Why did she vote against an amendment for not arming Israel?
Do you think about any of this with your mind or do you just react on impulse and emotion like an animal?
Yes, I am a hysterical genocide condemner and you are a rational genocide apologizer.
What does the “defensive” Iron Dome do? It helps Palestinian genocide and illegal, unprovoked attacks on Iran to continue unimpeded. Israel does not have the right to defend itself while committing these acts.
Then why did she vote to keep the arming of Israel on the bill? Where’s the consistency in that?
The votes speak for themselves. Everyone knows that the yearly defense budget bill gets passed every year without exception.
She knew the bill would ultimately pass regardless of her final vote, and yet knowingly voted against an amendment to remove the arming of Israel. Her final no vote is a fig leaf covering her vote to send weapons to Israel.

Or should we clean up his image, as the US is doing right now?
davel@lemmy.mltoMicroblog Memes@lemmy.world•Terrorism is when you say America badEnglish72·18 days agoHow are they occupiers when they’re at least as Iranian as you? Are they occupying themselves? And where is this 1,500 number coming from? Because it doesn’t seem to be coming from Wikipedia. The Western imperialist puppet regime installed after the CIA-led coup was no angel, either. Do want a repeat of that? Because they’ll come in and 1) take the oil and 2) set Iran up for a proxy war with Russia and/or China, just as they did with Ukraine.
davel@lemmy.mlto Open Source@lemmy.ml•US cuts funding to F-Droid, Tor Browser, Let's Encrypt and Tails LinuxEnglish6·4 months agoAre you also going to claim that DeepSeek isn’t censored?
You can download DeepSeek and run it yourself to get uncensored answers.
Large Language Models (LLMs) are not truth machines. They are garbage in, garbage out. The input to English-language models are largely English-language texts from Five Eyes countries, with all the disinformation and bias that that entails. So the DeepSeek company is in a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation. They can either refuse to answer certain questions, in which case Western media will accuse them of censorship; or they can answer them, in which case (a) their model will perpetuate Cold War I & Cold War II falsehoods and (b) Western media will parade those false answers around in a victory lap. They chose the former for the cloud version of their app, and the latter for the local version.
If you don’t see any protests in a democracy, it’s not because everybody is happy.
Now you’re just vagueposting 🙄 Michael Parenti, Blackshirts and Reds:
During the cold war, the anticommunist ideological framework could transform any data about existing communist societies into hostile evidence. If the Soviets refused to negotiate a point, they were intransigent and belligerent; if they appeared willing to make concessions, this was but a skillful ploy to put us off our guard. By opposing arms limitations, they would have demonstrated their aggressive intent; but when in fact they supported most armament treaties, it was because they were mendacious and manipulative. If the churches in the USSR were empty, this demonstrated that religion was suppressed; but if the churches were full, this meant the people were rejecting the regime’s atheistic ideology. If the workers went on strike (as happened on infrequent occasions), this was evidence of their alienation from the collectivist system; if they didn’t go on strike, this was because they were intimidated and lacked freedom. A scarcity of consumer goods demonstrated the failure of the economic system; an improvement in consumer supplies meant only that the leaders were attempting to placate a restive population and so maintain a firmer hold over them.
If communists in the United States played an important role struggling for the rights of workers, the poor, African-Americans, women, and others, this was only their guileful way of gathering support among disfranchised groups and gaining power for themselves. How one gained power by fighting for the rights of powerless groups was never explained. What we are dealing with is a nonfalsifiable orthodoxy, so assiduously marketed by the ruling interests that it affected people across the entire political spectrum.

If you want to talk about a fake democracy, look no further than the US. Previously:The US government was never not captured by the bourgeoisie, because the US was born of a bourgeois revolution[1]. The wealthy, white, male, land-owning, largely slave-owning Founding Fathers constructed a bourgeois state with “checks and balances” against the “tyranny of the majority”. It was never meant to represent the majority—the working class—and it never has, despite eventually allowing women and non-whites (at least those not disenfranchised by the carceral system) to vote.
