Donald Trump has put the onus on Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to reach a ceasefire with Russia after the US leader held direct talks with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in Alaska on Friday.
-
Trump said the direct talks with Putin on Friday did not yield an agreement to pause the war in Ukraine, though he claimed “great progress” during the nearly three-hour-long summit
-
Putin, speaking through an interpreter, suggested the two leaders had hammered out “an understanding
This was a handler meeting with his agent. Anyone who thinks this is about ceasefire is a bit naive.
Aren’t there some files they “forgot” to release?
So Trump failed. No surprise there, but at least he didn’t agree something with Putin that Zelenskyy wouldn’t agree to (as far as we know, anyway).
Putin & Trump rode together here. That says it all

Reminder that the last time a Russian leader rode inside the presidential limo was Boris Yeltsin in 1991 with George HW Bush just before the dissolution of the Soviet Union. It’s now in reverse
Have you seen Lavrov’s CCCP shirt?
Yes, and for those out of the loop

Easy, just arm them to the teeth.
Guess we’ll wait for those “crushing” sanctions a little bit more though eh TACO?
Easy, just arm them to the teeth.
Or pull out entirely and prepare the remaining NATO for what it was founded: Protecting NATO territory, not engaging in this bullshit in ukraine.
Dear Sir,
please regard my humble suggestion to fornicate with a skunk.
That’s what NATO is for you kremlin bot.
Do i say otherwise Yank?
As a side note, Chinese state-controlled propaganda outlet South China Morning Post reports on the Trump-Putin summit that “Ukraine-Russia land swap, security guarantees ‘largely agreed’”, citing Trump saying that “many points” were negotiated “on behalf of Ukraine and on behalf of the whole Nato situation” in a “very warm meeting.”
At the same time, according to the South China Morning Post, Trump “warned that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ‘has to’ accept what was agreed” and that “the European Union have [sic] to get involved a little bit next”.
Here is the archived link for this.
Beijing’s propaganda machine eyeing Taiwan and others is in full force it seems.
The guidelines tell pro-Kremlin outlets to emphasize that Putin spoke to Trump about “Kyiv’s unwillingness to negotiate,” that Moscow is “ready for various scenarios in the talks,” and that the Russian president “sets the agenda for Russian–American relations."
It is noteworthy that the Kremlin issued these ‘guidelines’ before the so-called ‘summit.’
Addition:
So what about the secondary sanctions now?
reach a ceasefire
So peace is not up for debate.
Peace could easily be reached. Russia could leave the whole of Ukraine and call it a day.
As always. That’s why I think that even a ceasefire will not happen.
So what was the meeting about?
two leaders had hammered out “an understanding
My guess is that Trump explained that he will escalate the war unless Putin retreats soon.
Is Trump NATO in this scenario? Why would we need third-party interference in a war between two parties halfway across the globe?
