Disney shareholders are demanding answers following the short-lived ousting of Jimmy Kimmel, and alleging that the late-night talk show host’s removal may have amounted to "capitulating to government pressure” — and is a potential violation of their shareholder rights. The American Federation of Teac...
God damn it do I ever not give a shit about Charlie Kirk or Jimmy Kimmel
Well you should give a damn about the first amendment, because that’s really what’s at play here, and if the government goes unchallenged in being able to shutdown free speech, you best believe you’ll care then. But if they do succeed, it’ll be too late at that point. So yes, you do care about Jimmy Kimmel and Charlie Kirk right now.
We have several generations of narrow-minded fools whose sole purpose is I.
Is it a direct impact they can see or feel in the next 15 minutes? If not, who cares!
That’s the problem we face now.
I’m not American so no I don’t. Americans believing they’re the only country in the world again.
And you don’t think other countries won’t follow suit? Look around, friend. This shit is contagious.
Our cancer has definitely metastasized.
The fact that they’re from the Netherlands, judging by their instance, makes it especially rich when you consider their current political situation. Our shit is indeed contagious.
hey go easy on them. once you get a taste for prime minister it’s hard to stop
Yeah you came into the comments of an article about an American problem so you could be a complete idiot
I didn’t come to anywhere, it popped up on my feed. Like 5000 times this week about one of these guys. But I guess I’ll just unread it next time lol
This post just magically opened in front of your eyes and you were forced to comment in it, huh?
The commenting part was entirely voluntary, trust me.
No one cares what you think about the topic at hand.
And I don’t care about what you think, so what are we doing here chum?
Just ignore it and if you can’t, use a filter.
No, I like this better.
Then you do give a shit about Charlie Kirk and Jimmy Kimmel.
How dare Americans talk about things
American issues are constantly being shoved down the rest of the world’s throats, and it’s actually annoying to those of us who don’t live there. Shocking, I know, but how dare I have the audacity to be annoyed by it.
You’re literally in a post about an American tv thing. Just don’t open the post instead of going in and complaining people are discussing it like a psycho. It’s easy trust me.
Man if you didn’t like my comment you could have just scrolled past it instead of hitting reply and discussing it like a psycho.
Same for you with your original comment lmao
Did what I was trying to say seriously go over your head?
You’re free to set up post filters so you don’t see content you don’t care for. Or move to a platform that isn’t largely US based.
“This is America, if you don’t like it you can leave!” -Americans with literally everything in the world.
Poor widdle you, you have to take some agency and curate your feed.
Block the keywords and comms you don’t care about like the rest of us. Or keep complaining that entire communities don’t conform to what you want them to be. One of those is bound to help.
lol I was complaining about having to hear about these guys on all media. I would have to go full Luddite to get away from hearing about the dumpster fire clusterfuck of stupidity that is America.
no, only in posts that are about specifically American things.
It’s not our fault people aren’t posting enough non-US content for your tastes. You’ve posted a grand total of 5 threads over the entire lifetime of your account, and none of them were news articles. So quit your bitching when you’ve done nothing to help!
lol are you seriously trying to shame me into not posting enough? Go outside dude.
You’re the one bitching about lack of content, not me. Your juvenile “I know you are but what am I” retort is pathetic.
This is the most interaction I’ve gotten with a reply to be honest
then maybe stop shaming others for posting too much?
No. Being chronically online should be shamed.
who exactly is chronically online here?
So you clicked on a link, then clicked a reply button, then entered in some text, then clicked post… on subject you don’t care about? You’ve done this multiple times on a thread about a subject you say you don’t care about.
I usually just scroll past the things I don’t care about.
I hate this specific brand of unlogic so much. “IF YOU INTERACT WITH IT YOU CARE ABOUT IT” is so not how things work.
Putting effort into something is generally how humans show they care about things.
Replying to stuff online is not an effort based endeavour my friend.
Then Why are you even commenting?
Because venting frustrations is something humans like to do?
America’s 1A failure doesn’t bode well for anyone in the world.
If you don’t care about news if it’s not relevant to your country then you’re American. If not legally then at least in spirit.
Haha ego so big that it’s attributing its own traits everywhere
Hahaha well maybe you have a point.
The fact you are here says otherwise.
Then you don’t care about the state of America? Who they are is the least important part of the whole thing.
It’s not that I don’t care. But Americans demanding I care when they don’t give a shit about the state of every other country is absolutely annoying and everybody thinks so.
A news article being posted is not demanding you care.
It’ll be.over soon. Folliw the routine.
Yeah it’ll be something else by next week I’m sure.
These things aren’t just a story in the media, it isn’t another episode of a tv show. Real, substantive changes are occurring behind these events
No, people are well aware. I think moreso from the outside. It’s just the usual behviour of Americans looking to their feeds for what to think and feel in the moment. They aren’t planning on doing much about it, or look at much else, just complain in the comment sections of the feeds, if at all. That’s how they’ve been for decades. It’s the culture.
A very easy and harmless public to shepherd. Decades of being hoodwinked into dumb shit, never all that upset enough to deviate from the same old playbooks. Probably the last time they ever did something and won was Prohibition. You can kind of get away with anything there because the public is no issue. Whether a government administration or a corporation. The public will complain, sure, they always do. But look at that current trajectory. It’s never faltered.
So, yeah, we’ll see what’s coming up next and see how quickly the last things are forgotten by the new shiny.
And it isn’t necessarily you, I’m just pointing out the state of late-20th century til now and how the culture continues to be more and more “the American way.”
